Know me for what I am, not for what I was

Hello I'm Jermaine, I am a 37-year-old mixed bisexual man and today I want to share with you a peace of myself.

I’ve made many bad decisions in my life, but I am not ashamed of any of them.

Every challenge I faced has shaped me into the great man I am today.

For most of my life, I felt like an impostor, living under a false identity. I always felt out of place. Over the years, I learned that the only person affected by not being my true self was me. The people I tried to impress lived carefree lives, ignoring their own problems while pointing out my flaws.

No one is perfect; we are all unique in our own ways. When we confront our fears and learn to be happy with ourselves, life becomes much easier.

I have learned that I am perfect as I am and have found my path, my journey, and my purpose. They say that to be great, you must handle the negative as well as the positive.

I was convicted as a drug dealer at the age of 18 and went to prison for the first time at 19. I was released in 2013, just before turning 27. I moved to a new state and began meeting people. I was still in the closet and scared of judgment from others.

I ask that you get to know me for who I am, not who I was ten years ago.

I made a bad decision and am now wrogly labeled because someone lied their identity.

I am not a monster, just a misunderstood man striving to be better than yesterday.

I urge you to look in the mirror and ask yourself:

Would you want to be judged for the person you were when you were young, or for who you are today?

Remember: the best investment you can make is in yourself.

I am committed to disrupting everything within me to become the best version of myself.

Don’t focus on problems; think about possibilities.

We create our own giants. Today is the day we start taking responsibility for our actions. We must begin making changes. Nothing worth having comes easy.
